But I'm not a mechain like you. I sit the engine right next to the one I'm pulling and swap everything over, the bare block is the same, all the holes are there just more as the engines get into newer models ( Htey do not remove them from future castings.
My saab mechanic at Sports Car Specialists in DE (Bill Jacobsen) said it could not be done or would be too tough ( maybe not for someone who is used to seeing the same thing all the time), but I am doing anohter this week ( #3) a 2008 engine with 5K miles in a 2000 Vig, I'd be happy to give anyone pointers but the easiest thig is to start with a bare long block on the newer engine and start putting stuff on where it fits for the engine you are replacing, simple really...
