9-5 Arc Cooling system flush - questions

Am contemplating cooling system preventive maintenance work and considering:
1) replace waterpump (90K on it)
2) thermostat
3) cooling system flush
4) replace upper and lower radiator hoses
Existing antifreeze looks clean but it is original, so I am thinking of using a "chemical flush" to run through the engine to remove any light scale and then drain and flush with water.
Any recommendations on what might be a good chemical to use? (is this even a good idea, or just flush with water?)
Is there a back flush procedure for this vehicle? or is just a straight flush sufficient?
Good aftermarket water pump and thermostat recommendations?
Given Saabs are sooo finicky, am tempted to buy OEM parts, but they are so friggin expensive...
Are OE waterpumps long lived and should I just flush, or replace the pump?
I am not looking for extra work, but, I want to deal with this on my time and not have a failure in the dead of winter (which is when it would happen..lol)
Good antifreeze to use, or is OEM the best?
How long does it take to R&R water pump and thermostat? Any weird got-yachas??? special tools?
thanks for all your help/suggestions..
