Any mirror will mount up, and electrically, they are compatible, EXCEPT that someplace along the line (about 2003, when the autodim side mirrors came along), Saab reversed the gender of the connectors. I believe that applies to all the HomeLink mirrors. The older mirrors have a male connector, and the later ones have a female connector. When Saab sold the upgrade kit, they included a short gender changer harness.
I'm not sure that the switch is supposed to lock on or not. I know on the HomeLink mirrors it does not lock, but it performs other functions as well, that would preclude having it lock at all.
