If you took out a 166k turbo and put in a used one that had maybe 94k it could be the turbo. You might also check to see if you have oil in the intercooler.
I would rebuild one of those turbos with a center section or a rebuild kit. I rebuilt my TD 04 a couple of years ago and it is working great. Buy am OEM rebuild kit on some auction site and look up a couple great YouTube videos on how to do it. there is a ver good pair of videos, part 1 and part 2 that is quite detailed and useful.
