Bought a 2001 9-5 2.3 from a good friend and he has been getting service at a reliable Cadillac dealer. The dealer has been using ACDelco dexos Synthetic Blend 5W30 motor oil (API Service SN, no other standards on the bottle) in the car. They said it is recommended for engines subject to sludge problems. I use Mobil 1 0W40 in my two other 9-5's (2.3) and am inclined to do the same in this car - it has a sticker right under the hood saying to use Mobil!! Anyone have experience with this oil? I understand it is the new standard for GM cars and they require it to maintain the warranty. It says for 2011 and newer GM cars and it is also suitable for vehicles requiring GM6094M and GM4718M.
