Thanks for the input, much appreciate. I am brand new under the kick panel here.
When you say the shaft should move the blend door, what exactly is a blend door? I see a couple doors or what look like doors.
Beginning with the motor, the motor outputs a brass shaft that when the motor is mounted, goes into the plastic arm. The arm has its shaft that I was thinking would be broken, and it goes into the heater box and does I do not know what.
Here is a clue, the plastic arm and the shaft I thought would be broken, then almost seem like they are not attached to anything. I can flip the arm back and forth when the motor is not mounted. This surprised me.
When I look thru the elbow, I see a shaft going into a large disc, looks like it could spin open to show slots perhaps.
Up above perhaps to the defroster area, I see a door the can turn, it is not a disc it is a sphere.
I am going out now to start the car with the motor still attached, to the recalibration, and watch thruthe albow to see what moves.
Thanks for any further clarification you can lend. Assuming the shaft is not broken but it does not move the blend door, I wonder what the step is to reattach the left side to make it move stuff?
cheers
