You remove all camshaft sprockets and the sheetmetal cover behind. That opens up the area for the thermostat housing.
Then you just loosen the bolt, but not remove, for the upper radiator hose pipe and use a Dremel to carefully cut and split the thermostat housing where the radiator pipe is inserted.
That way you don't have to remove the bolt for pipe completely but can slowly twist off the thermostat housing when the two bolts for it are removed.
Clean off corrosion on tube o-ring grooves and engine block and install new thermostat with o-rings.
