You dodged the first big hurdle - the Sludge Monster. As for longevity of the car in general
Keep the a/t fluid clean. But if it's not at the present time, don't do it all at once - clean fluid dislodges accumulated dirt, and a clump floating through the valve body can do damage.
Don't overload the rear springs.
Keep a balance in your checking account. These cars will occasionally need stuff repaired and/or replaced - check the board history, but some things that are more common than we like: SID (before 2004), ABS module, DI Cassette, brake vacuum booster. If you need optimum reliability, replace the things that will leave you by the side of the road before they fail - fuel pump insert, crank position sensor. Keep a spare DIC once you get past 50K on the one in the car. Fluids and filters (brake fluid every two years, oil changes like the PO did - that seemed to work, A/T fluid as mentioned). Watch the HVAC and replace the crank arm before a cracked one results in a broken control shaft.
Don't hit things with the car ;-)
