First, there have been several Saab coolants over the years. Afaik, the blue Saab coolant is fairly similar to Merc Coolant and can probably be mixed, though the colour may be confusing depending how much went in... For a while, Saab was using GM Dexcool, which is fine if you have that in the car, but I would be cautious mixing Dexcool with anything but Dexcool.
I would recommend getting some Mercedes coolant. It is readily available (any Merc dealer sells it), but also as G05, as it is used in many other vehicles now (Ford, Chrysler iirc)... it is a lighter yellow colour, not bright orange like dexcool. It is no more expensive than dexcool either (even from our merc dealer).
fwiw, I use merc coolant in my older saabs, and would in my 9-5 also, but it came with dexcool, so I haven't bothered to switch it over yet. good luck!
