A valid inquiry, Adam. Though I haven't ever really heard of the light control relay causing a DRL issue. Would be interesting if that were the case.
Typically they only cause erroneous "lighting failure" SID messages, and occasional intermittent failure of the front headlamps. The cause of the failure is due to loose/cracked solder joints on the relay circuit board. They can be repaired easily if you have the tools (small soldering equipment) and some decent electrical-soldering skills.
Testing might be tedious...if there is such a way.
