Loss of brake pedal pressure_ABS/TCS removal Posted by MontereyAero [Email] (#506) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MontereyAero) on Thu, 9 Jan 2014 18:04:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I successfully pulled the TCS/ABS module from our 2001 9.5 lpt. I braced the brake pedal about 1.5 inches down prior to removing the six brake lines from the TCS/ABS module. I noted virtually no leaks once the pipes were removed. I applied electrical tape to each pipe end to keep dirt out. The reman instructions were to "plug" the holes, which I assumed meant the exposed orifaces in the TCS/ABS module. This I did as well. I started the car, noted the expected warning lights, and felt almost no resistance on the brake pedal. I noted a drip of brake fluid under the car. What did I do wrong and how do I rectify it?
