The "olde knowledge" of bleeding starting at the "farthest" from the MC does not take into account several things, not the least of which are the ABS components. Heck, I'm sure that old chestnut came from the days of drum brakes and a single hydraulic circuit for all 4 corners!
In pretty much all cases, specific instructions from the car manufacturer (as in WIS) trump any and all "generic" lore, or olde mechanic's tales.
And yes, suck out as much old fluid from the MC first, then add new and start bleeding.
BTW - depending on how brake lines are routed, the "farthest" caliper may not be the one diagonally opposite the MC on the car! The Classic 900 rear brake lines ran down the left sill (inside), crossed the car under the back seat, exiting on the right side of the car, making the --left-- rear caliper the "farthest" in terms of brake line length from the MC situated on the left of the firewall...
