If you were a headlight washer check valve, where Posted by pme [Email] (#1496) [Profile/Gallery] (more from pme) on Sat, 18 Jan 2014 06:30:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
would you be?
2003 9-5 Arc, 210K, Xenon headlights
The other evening I topped up my washer fluid in anticipation of a sloppy drive to work in the morning. In the morning, I found a fair sized puddle of washer fluid under my passenger side bumper, below the headlight, and a lot less fluid in the reservoir than when I went to bed!
Poking around the Internet (this board and generally) I learned that this may be caused by a failed check valve between the washer tank and the headlamp washer. Since that sounds like a pretty easy and inexpensive thing to try, I thought I would give it a shot.
Can anyone give me a clue where this valve may be located? Some sources have said near the washer jug, behind the headlight on the driver's side, and some diagrams I've seen make it appear like there is one closer to the passenger headlight washer pump. I'd like to limit how much I have to take apart in my search!
Many thanks,
pme
