I've got a Wahler in my other 9-5 that is 5 years old and has 35k miles on it and it is fine. I only replaced the OE one because I had the engine apart (171k miles), and put in new water pump and thermostat as preventative measures. Before that,I don't ever remember a thermostat failing, but I would typically replace replace it if I had the cooling system drained and the car had over 120K miles.

I wonder if these failing thermostats are made in China?
