Sag induced toe? Maybe not so much

I don't doubt that excessive toe (in or out) causes the cupping problem. I think I read somewhere that the shims that many use to correct camber were originally designed to correct toe problems with the NG900/OG 9-3. And correcting the toe setting should be part of any program to fix the rear suspension's appetite for tires.
But the 9-5 rear suspension does not have much bump/roll oversteer built into it, like the 9-3SS does. Compare the 9-5's cast iron trailing arm to the flat, stamped trailing arm on the 9-3SS. Compare the toe link arm on the 9-3SS to the 9-5 - it doesn't have one. Because of all that, the 9-5 is designed to have a lot of camber change with spring travel to help the back end of the car turn in, which leads to excessive negative camber, especially on Aeros with their lowered suspension. Any sag at all pushes the camber over the edge.
