While anything is possible given time, effort, and money, it's probably not worth trying to do this swap. The intermittent wipers have a separate controller for that function. It is NOT inside DICE.
The best thing to do is to try to work with it for a while. When I had my 2002, I just about had it right, when the car got totaled. The secret was in NOT using the extremes of the "sensitivity" slider. I spent most of my time with that car with the slider set for least sensitive. And I'd get a lot of the weird problems like you describe. But when I started to actually place the slider in a more intermediate position, the aberrant behavior all but disappeared, and I could really rely on them.
