Can't get SID or radio out for anything Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Tue, 8 Apr 2014 06:57:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I tried replacing some SID bulbs last week, that have been burned out since I got the car. Maybe there's a good reason the prior owner didn't fix it as someone glued the radio and SID to the car???
Prying the SID out only resulted in scratching up the SID and the aluminum fascia. So I decide to wait and get a DIN tool, and get the radio out as that's the "safe" way to remove the SID once the radio is free of the dashboard. Fast forward a couple weeks and I get a generic DIN tool, I push in until I hear the clicks, push the curved part outward as I pull out and the DIN tools just come right out, the radio won't budge.
The four DIN holes are getting scratched up too now and my DIN tools are getting bent... any tips? Yes I've watched all the youtube videos, they don't seem to have much trouble. Is the GM/Saab DIN tool different from the Ford one that Walmart had?
