No Fuel Pressure, new everything, whats going on? Posted by Savary [Email] (#1273) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Savary) on Wed, 23 Apr 2014 19:54:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Did a head gasket job on the wifes car.
It ran fine before I tore it apart.
Went to start it up, cranked, no start.
No pressure in the fuel rail.
Voltage at the pump, but pump never turns on.
So I put a new pump (Bosch 694240) and fuel filter in.
Strange that the pump went bad while I had the engine tore apart.
Anyway, no difference at all.
I took the feed line off the rail and turned key on, fuel is getting there.
Put a pressure gauge on the rail, 5 psi key on, 10 psi cranking. (the red cap is off the pump)
Put compressed air on the rail feed port and gently brought it over 40psi.
You can hear air going back to the tank via the return line, so nothing is clogging the rail, and the FPR is working.
I swapped the fuel relay under the dash and that didn’t make any difference.
Now what?
I’m starting to think the new pump isn’t any good?
Lots of people are using this pump on saabs.
I cant find the pressure spec anywhere.
One guy says his wouldn’t go over 10psi on the reviews at the Advance web page.
Thanks
