I installed a Saab/Remus system on my 2000 9-5 about a decade ago. I was prepared to cut the old bolts but was stymied by lack of space beneath the car. Hack saw wouldn't fit, and the bolts were too well guarded to cut with my Dremel. My neighbor, a retired Cummins mechanic, came to my rescue with a stick of twister or nut extractor sockets.
The socket on my 3/8 drive ratchet quickly removed one heavily rusted nut with minimum effort. I think it twisted the second corroded bolt in half when I tried to remove that corroded nut, again with almost no effort by me.
Find someone with a set of these sockets and borrow them to remove your exhaust system! If no friends have any, look for a set of Irwin brand at the Big Box Stores.
