So removed the brake vacuum line and plugged the manifold hole to isolate the booster from intake, and I could not reproduce the high idle after revving it up, even with AC and rear defrost turned on (to maximize engine load that will force ECU/ TB to compensate)... so now it looks as if the booster is the root cause!
While I was there (again), checked the vacuum pump (on the head) and it pulled 700mm HG vacuum, perfect. This is probably why my mAir is still close to mReq, even with leaky booster, as the check valve is not letting much air flowing into the manifold (manifold side pressure is higher than pump/ booster side so the check valve near manifold gets closed.)
I am going to spend money on the new booster first and will see how that goes... but probably should also budget for a TB soon.
Hope I'm on the right track...
