those are some good ideas - but aren't those sealed compressor units with refrig oil circulating in the refrigerant ?
The harbor freight unit is their 3 gallon 100 psi pancake unit - on sale for
$40. Saw a Utube video using the inexpensive vacuum pump with a 100 psi air compressor, another one featured the $100 vacuum pump but not sure how much addition use I'd have for it.
My 1999 9-5 blew really cold air for the 14 yrs I owned it, but the 2004 needed schraeder valves replaced under warranty and has never consistently blown as cold as it should, the guage readings are out of whack with a low high side reading so I'm hoping the compressor isn't going bad.
