Why are these throttle bodies so problematic?

2004 9-5 Aero. First one replaced under CPO at 60k, now it seems to be failing again at 111k. CEL, running poorly at anything over 2k rpms, read code p1530. Erased code and reset the cable and was able to drive it a few miles to the Indie's shop.
I never had this problem with NG900 or the 9-3's I have owned. There seems to be a lot of electrical termination issues with this car. From what the dealer's mechanic told me a few years back they used a lot of tape or ribbon connectors that do not seem to be very durable. I just had BBA fix a fading ACC display, not too long ago also had ABS redone, and replaced SID with a boneyard unit as display went funky. Also on my 3rd DI cartridge. Does Lucas make this stuff? Reminds me of my old 70's vintage Norton Commando.
Probably next thing up is the fuel pump. Do folks replace fuel pumps preemptively? like I do with belts, pulleys, coolant temp sensors, T stats, CPS...those parts are cheaper though.
This car has left me stranded 3 times now. Thanks to my code reader and the folks that contribute to this forum, I was able to get it off the road without a tow, although sometimes not until the next day.
