sorry, wasn't clear - relay ticking with car *off*... So battery was drained by leaving it in the "on" position, engine not running. Car was then turned "off". Attempts to restart yielded nothing. But even with the car "off" the relay was ticking. Our ignition switch has started sticking (ie not popping up), but this is a separate issue. I carefully double checked that the switch popped up and the relay was still ticking.
So why the heck would a relay tick when the car is supposed to be turned off?
I know there are probably a few electrical drains with the car off, but in a loop with a relay? I guess the only good guess I could think of was the fan loop - I haven't paid much attention to the 9-5 but on the c900s they have a delayed fan turn off (after the engine shuts off). Does the 9-5 do the same? When I connected a booster pack with the car off, the fans spun and then shut down. No more ticking since boosting.
