Sorry to be non-responsive, but that's just one more instance of nearsighted management that has ruined one more part of not just Saabs. Now all the fuel filters are buried inside the tank, requiring replacement of the fuel pump assembly at best and the entire tank assembly at worst, all to comply with evaporative emissions regulations. Which is something that the old way of doing things, with screwed down banjo fittings and rubber-sealed steel washers, already did. But no, the additional man-minute of assembly time versus the relatively leaky "quick connect" method couldn't escape the flinty eyed accountants. Not just Saab, not just GM, but the entire industry.
