Hey everyone. Just a thought , and wondering what others my think. So I have a issue that I plan on addressing but haven't gotten to it. The issue causes my belt to come over now and then depending on the driver and the driving conditions. So as I think, I see the things that the belt drives and to me the only major one is the water pump. I say that because if I'm out and the belt slips off u need the water pump to get me home.
This leads me to ask, has anyone had any thoughts on an electric water pump? In a pinch I think it would be good because I can live without power steering and I think the battery would hold long enough without the alternator to get me to a safe place if the belt was to come off far from home. This would consist of running a smaller belt I'm sure.
The other question is does anyone think this can this be done? I would imagine it could because the pump could be put in a different location right? Me myself, I'm driving a 2000 aero wagon. As of now its just research and a thought, so any input I would love to hear. Thanks everyone.
