Good to hear you finally found the leak . It is amazing how sensitive these cars are to vacume leaks or obstructions . The pcv valves are another very crucial part , that can make the car run real funny sometimes .The v6 has very low intercooler pressure , but it still needs to be a "closed" pressurized one to work properly . The system will still function with small leaks , and a variable like temperature or elevation will cause issues .
The correct clamp can also help keeping the hose on , the higher pressure systems have always been famous for "Popping" off the hose , and the car instantly has cardiac arrest ! Sounds like your car had a little "seepage" The inside of those hoses is a slippery zone of oil/gas/yeach .. .
I wish my old v6 could be referred to as "new" ,ever again . It is officially Old and Beat Up and Tired and Ugly . Still runs fine ,though . Good to hear the news !!
