As I noted...
The Alt light on the 9-5 came on after the new battery was installed.
On the 9-3 the light was coming on when the key was turned on but not when the engine was running. And the new battery was dead in about two weeks. The car was only driven 10-15 miles a couple times a day. A test at my indy proved it was the alternator. And the battery hasn't gone flat since the new alt was put in, 6 weeks ago.
Whatever triggers the light --in either car-- was not doing its job.
I like having a voltage reading in the EDU in my 9K. Nice to keep tabs on a fairly critical component.
