Hi Mark. I'm in Mpls. I've had the, luxury of a heated warehouse office space to work on my Fiat and Saab for the last few years, but that ends in a month. It's going to be hard returning to wrenching in my tiny frozen garage.
I'm following a composition of instructions from fixmysaabs, this BB and my Haynes, but I didn't glean the bit about leaving the rack. Fixmysaabs removes the rack, but offer uncharacteristically little detail about getting to the rack bolts. I have the exhaust dropped and everything removed but the pita 10mm rear mount bolts and the rack. Tons of little steps, but nothing too difficult. My downpipe studs came free easily, so I marshalled on. I got a new alternator to swap in while there but did also discover a big crank seal or pump o-ring leak.
More tomorrow.
