Importing SAAB from CANADA to USA

Hi,
I'm being transferred by my employer from Montreal to the Boston area. My almost unique low mileage manual Glacier Blue 2004 9-5 Aero has been virtually flawless for me over the past 6.5 yrs and I'd be sad to part with it because of the move South. Also, Saabs are considerably more expensive in the Boston area than here in Montreal (where many people are scared of Saabs, they have a poor reputation here for some reason), and I still have difficulty adjusting to the post 2005 look.
I checked the US Customs website and I know it doesn't qualify for entry, but I don't know exactly why, although the speedometer is certainly part of the answer (only kms / hr, no miles indicated at all). Has anyone had the experience of importing a Saab to the US and can you shed light on what would be required? Also, info on costs / paperwork / complications would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Rick
