+1 on the voltage drop test.
As the Best way to determine the conductivity-health of the cable.
Its more than likely that the battery has just failed early.
Interstate should have a warranty coverage if it truly is only ~24 month old. Or at least pro-rate the cost towards a new one anyway.
After-thought: how old is the starter motor? Is it the Bosch OEM or Mitsu OEM? OR....Bosch reman?
Have seen an increasing amount of Mitsu start motor fail load-testing, but still "work" fine. Meaning that they crank the engine, but are pulling an excessive amount of amps to get there. Stressing the battery and cable out along the way to full failure.
Bosch Reman stuff is not-what-it-use-to-be either. Ask just about anybody in the industry these days. Even most of the product reps will tell you; there is a higher trend in failure and warranty return rates for Bosch "rotating parts" (alternators & starters) these days.
Their quality control just isn't up-to-snuff anymore.
Damn shame.
Go figure though. These days it's probably still cheaper to warranty the same part three times anymore than it is to have to things manufactured-in and shipped out of china.
