I know the reflector is not designed for this specific bulb. Have heard that warning so many times, but:

1. the HIDs in my 1990 Chevrolet pickup are far superior to the original and produce very nice patterns

2. The H4 HIDs in my 1973 911 Carrera RS work very well and have good light patterns and do not blind people.

I could stay legal and conservative and keep the original bulbs and be running around with bad lighting on all these vehicles.

I have adjusted the Saab low beam carefully, and they work well so far. I need to do a bit of fine tuning on the aiming laterally.

Also I purchased a set of electric height adjuster servo motors that fit the European lighting units I am using. I have not installed them yet, but they will allow me to adjust the height of each unit individually for height from the dash. That will be interesting.

I bought these euro lights and they did not come with height adjusters. I had to build my own. My indy pointed out that the euro versions had a little servo motor built into the adjusters. I found a used set in the UK and will start experimenting with them soon.

I will let you know how it all works out.

by the way here are the lights I bought and these are in the USA

they came with Cree bulbs and are very close to the original location, but do not give 360 degree light radiation.

I will see how the cooling goes. And I will solve the cover situation. Fortunately in So Cal we don't get much rain these days. I will see how cooling works out too.
