You might be able to slow down the leak but the proverbial hole is already there.
By having a perfectly operating PCV system you create a slight vacuum inside the crankcase compartment that will try to keep the oil inside compared to a non working PCV system which could produce a slight pressure inside pushing oil out wherever it finds a weak spot.
Keep in mind that worn or stuck piston rings allowing blow by gases into the crank case will overpower any good working PCV system and still allow oil to escape.
Usually if you see oil slick around the oil filler cap, you have weak piston rings.
