My poor 2000 9-5 SE V6 SportWagon has finally reached the point where I can't justify the cost of any more repairs. Last night, it lost the lower radiator hose. Yeah, that's a cheap part, but a fair labor investment... considering the car also has leaky valve cover gaskets, a flickering oil pressure light, patchwork exhaust that still needs more patchwork... basically, death from a thousand paper cuts. And the money that could theoretically go to rebuilding it has to go toward procuring reliable transportation for the S.O. in short order. My poor old gal just can't be called "reliable" any more.
But it still has some good parts. Especially the parts I've replaced in the last two years. And for now, it's tucked away in my workshop.
I've been thinking of parting it out, but I'm not sure where the best place to try it might be. I know the classifieds here are an obvious place :) and I plan to use them. It looks like it's been a while since the question last came up, and DIY parts sites have come and gone. I know there's a good time investment involved, but at least it's cashflow-positive.
Any recommendations for sites to use in parting out the car? How likely am I to find someone who is willing to pay a reasonable and realistic amount for it as an "I'll come tow it" parts car?
