I would (did) get the master link chain. Problem w the non-master chain is that you beat up the link & pin to remove it and then a second time to replace it.
If you half install the master link to treat it like a 'broken' regular chain, there's little difference. Alternately wire the link halves together to avoid losing a half link. AND make a well taped catch apron with plastic sheeting or old pillow cases. I made sure to use the OLD chain side links when temporarily attaching old to new to thread it in - anal retentive perhaps, but that motor now has nearly 290 k miles.
