Rolling in new Timing Chain Posted by XLR99 [Email] (#1699) [Profile/Gallery] (more from XLR99) on Sun, 26 Jul 2015 13:45:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sounds like I'll be needing to change the timing chain in my '04 Aero. It's just over 170k at this point. I rolled in a chain on a 9000 several years ago, and I assume the process is similar on the 9-5, just a bit more crowded in the engine bay. Also found http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=241829 this from dmz789qqq from a few years back.
I checked eEuroparts; they have both a master link and non-master type chain. I'm leaning towards buying a non-master type and either hammering the link or using my motorcycle chain tool.
Any reason why I'd want a master link? I can just picture myself dropping the link into the abyss.
