Sometimes when the clutch start to near its end it doesn't release fully and that can hamper the syncro rings and the job they need to do to slow down the gears.
I can sometimes feel how the car is doing a slight movement forward when getting into first gear or a slight chug backwards when trying reverse when the clutch is binding.
The clutch pedal might still feel ok in its travel but the disc, pressure plate and flywheel isn't disconnecting fully with each other.
