I don't know what others think of this but I've flushed the cooling systems on all my vehicles with "Simple Green". In fact, my SAAB 9-5, I put in some Simple Green and drove it a couple of days before flushing. Then I drained the system, flushed with water, then filled with distilled, ran it, drained, filled with distilled water and drain it again. Then added 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water. Amazing how much crud came out on first draining of the coolant/Simple-Green mix. I would think this is a lot safer than Oxalic acid. Isn't that the stuff that etches glass?
