Thanx to Bernie for practical experience advice but I now realize the theory behind this is rotational motion conversion to reciprocal motion and the key to my problem is finding the "sweet spot" to locate the crank arm on the motor shaft. At this location the wipers are switching direction in the down position and rotation of the motor shaft around this location produces the least amount of wiper movement compared to a rotational location 90 or 270 degrees more. Angular vector component is a term that comes to mind. Anyway, with the WIS offering no calibration guidance of where to mount the crank arm on the motor shaft, I'll just have to fiddle with it. Readjusting the wiper arms is another final step and I'd be really surprised if my crapola PGW (Peking Glass Works - PPG sellout...!) replacement windshield actually has the 2mm wiper alignment dots Bernie mentions. Stay tuned..More story to come..Kirk d
