Using the WIS manual, I'm a bit further than halfway through this. I will do a nicer write-up when I'm done, because I want other people to be able to do this task without having to interpret the WIS or other independent write-ups that are too brief.
I'm around step 25. The car is jacked up, the engine is suspended, and the wheels are off. The battery and tray is out, the grill is out, the rear engine mount is unbolted / loose, the shift linkage is disconnected, slave cylinder is out, trans bolts to the engine are out / replaced, and the 02 sensors are disconnected.
I'm going to pull the front portion of the exhaust between the turbo and 2nd cat tonight, provided I can get the second nut off the rear cat. Then it's a matter of bundling the cooling systems and unbolting everything from the subframe.
I'm going to be replacing the friction disk with a used SPEC stage 2 disk for a 9000 that has 1k miles on it, provided that it fits. I will also be taking the flywheel out for machining since I'm putting in a larger OD disk.
While I'm in the area I'm replacing the rear engine mount, rear main seal, release bearing, and subframe bushings. This spring I'll get back in there are tackle the suspension - springs, struts, sway bars, bushings; the whole nine yards.
Feel free to ask any questions. And feel free to offer advice if you've done this before..
