99 wagon with 150K, Nice automatic car. Replaced weak alternator with good used one that Advance auto tested as great output. Fired up and worked till the wife drove to work, about halfway it started smoking out the tailpipe BAD, alternator light comes on dim.
Dollied her home, (car, not wife;). It will start up and idle nice and smooth, can idle for a long time with no smoke. But upon raising the RPM above about 2000 the smoke returns, engine runs very rough etc and won't stop till it's shut down and restarted. When restarted again will idle just fine till....
Turbo going bad? intercooler holding oil?
