Cleaning EVAP purge valve

I'm still getting P0101 and P0441(pd) codes. They don't always trigger, but these two have been consistent. I have all silicone vacuum lines and replaced the upper dipstick o-ring. I can have tough starting after adding fuel unless I give it throttle. I swapped gas caps. Time will tell.
I also tried cleaning the purge valve by spraying throttle body cleaner into the side that gets vacuum. Is there a better cleaning method? The vacuum was strong.
I couldn't remove the hose from the other side and didn't want to break things in the cold. Is that hose just on there very snuggly? In theory, I'd need to get it off to swap just the purge valve.
I didn't have a vacuum pump to test the valve. I could buy/borrow one. How much vacuum should it hold? Mightyvac, Harbor Freight, other? It sounds like the seals go on all of them so cheapest might be best.
I noticed the car would hiccup some with the vacuum hose pulled. I didn't hear any noticeable clicking when loosely connecting the vacuum hose back to the purge valve.
I cleaned the MAF. I don't recall any P0101 codes before cleaning. I could clean again or swap with another car to test.
Any other ideas? At least winter is milder than some.
