There is no need to divorce your current radio unless you are going to mount it in another car. It is the radio that gets married to the car, the car does not get married to the radio. That is also why the VIN trick works. Marrying sounds two sided but in this case it is just the radio. So you can have more radios married to your car and swap them without using the TECH2. I ran into a radio that was unwilling to be divorced. Marrying the replacement radio was not a problem.
