Wooden door trim

What year did the horizontal trim on the doors go to wood? I have an '06 and the trim is cheap silver scratched up plastic. I saw a picture of a door with wood trim and it looked much better.
The door pull handle is very flimsy too. It squeaks and seems like it's going to pull off the door when I close it. Anyone find a way to make it feel more solid?
