I really wondered if I had balance shaft problems, but without 9-5 experience, it was an unknown.
Decided on the easiest, cheapest way ... and the DIY wasn't bad, just need ramps and a floor jack plus a scrap of wood, 2x4, etc, to lift engine under the oil pan.
Did both trans [lower front and upper driver's side] and the main, massive upper engine mount, one at a time, but didn't do the rear lower engine mount [maybe this spring, saving the worst for last]. The old ones were crushed flat and hardened, at 100,000 miles [much shorter lifespan, btw, than any I've done on multiple 9000's, but a different design, load, location, etc ...]
Night and Day! Totally smooth at idle, shifting into drive has no clunk, etc.
Bought Hutchison mounts from eEuro. Easy DIY. Soooo smooth now. No regrets, feels like a Saab should. Also pondered the subframe bushings, but those can wait.
