Oil Pan Hairline Crack Posted by fdw201 [Email] (#2066) [Profile/Gallery] (more from fdw201) on Wed, 6 Jul 2016 11:55:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey all. I got under to change the oil for the first time on a new-to-me 2003 9-5 (3.0t, 102k), and noticed a small hairline crack where it looks like the drain plug had been overtightened. If it's leaking at all, it's quite subtle.
I went ahead and changed the oil anyway, and after doing some research I am thinking I can JB Weld it next time I change the oil.
Anyone think this is a huge problem/needs immediate attention/new oil pan, or is the JB Weld in another 3k miles a safe way to go?
The car is just a daily driver, to and from work, about 10 miles per day.
Thanks!
