Wiper Motor Repair (Windshield) - useful link Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Mon, 22 Aug 2016 06:52:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 1999 SE 2.3t is now a 'backup' vehicle, but I've been trying to put some minor things straight when I have time. One of those is wipers that wipe fine, but won't park properly. It's likely the internal microswitch in the wiper motor. Used motors with no guarantee go for $25-$40 on the bay, a used one from reputable yard for $75, 'rebuilt' about $75, and new for $239-$260. I've decided to open mine up and see how much work it is to fix.
In the process I have come across an interesting blog by Dave McMordie on take apart and refurb of the motor:

I'll post back to comment on what I find and whether I can fix it.
