YIKES! Where was this when my wiper motor went? Not under the same circumstances, but in perfectly good spring weather... Actually, thank god I didn't see this old 2008 blog link and just went and bought a rebuilt motor. I appreciate the guy's can fix anything DIY ethic. Perhaps I should post my monofilament fishing line and JB Weld approach to rebuilding broken foglight plastic support tabs, crumbling radiator hose fittings, heater box cam levers, etc... Anyway, I'd say the hardest thing about refitting the wiper motor is getting the original position of the blades correct with the motor shaft position! One more thing.. There is another helpful posted link by someone for if and when the wiper mechanism arm breaks at a defective casting in the mechanism. I have the piece of galvanized pipe epoxied in place for years now on my 1999 9-5 to prove the repair is durable.
Good Luck - Kirk d
