Are they doing other things too? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 6 Sep 2016 10:15:40 In Reply to: Price Check, kmazer, Tue, 6 Sep 2016 08:54:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Water pump maybe $125, Tensioner maybe $90, two idlers maybe $25 each, belt maybe $35, so around $300 for parts although their discounts may be different. Assume 5 hours for labor, in my area labor is $110/hour. Plus you need an allowance for the miscellaneous hose clamps and gaskets and O-rings and maybe the pump spool piece too. They may be assuming added labor since yours is a 14 year old car that could have seized fasteners and/or other complications.
So it looks as if it might be a little high depending on parts discounts and local labor rates etc., but if they are doing the hoses and thermostat and temp sensor too the price appears right in line with expectations.
Hard to really determine but not a left field price either.
Note - You can omit the center idler pulley if it hasn't already been eliminated on your engine.
