A friend that runs a repair shop also mentioned that it could be the instrument binnacle itself. Thermal cycling sometimes causes foil on a printed circuit card to lift resulting in a poor or intermittent connection.
My issue is that all the lights in the dashboard go out and the odometer lights get very dim. I know there's a sensor that controls the lighting levels in all the dash lights. Perhaps it's that, although it looks like it's VERY difficult to access short of removing the ENTIRE dashboard. A switch with another rheostat can be purchased used for about $30. I'll check for a code in the lighting section of OpCom. Another easy thing to do.
Thanks,
Doug
