The front sport springs GB 5234570 have coils that measure 14.7mm of which some is paint. Aftermarket springs are "14.5mm", perhaps thicker with their coatings. All spring photos seem to have same coil count, even though active coil count is hard to 'see'. Some aftermarket springs have free height, and 'wire' diameter listed, but such data is sparse, making comparisons difficult to impossible. Non sport aftermarket seems to be 14.25mm for springs targeted to include the V6 engine. I could get that spring or Saab parts for that application, but the wire diameter for the Saab part is not known. Trying to get a supplier to measure. A blog at eeuro discussing 9-3 springs was informative, but 9-5 has not been studied. I am inclined to view all Saab made springs as suspect as same oversight, materials and methods probably involved.
